NVIDIA has announced a groundbreaking shift to 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power infrastructure, targeting the escalating energy demands of AI data centers. The new architecture, set for deployment by 2027, is designed to support megawatt-scale racks as traditional 54V systems reach their limits.

The MOVE addresses a critical bottleneck in AI infrastructure. With workloads growing exponentially, data centers now require power delivery solutions capable of handling 1MW racks and beyond. NVIDIA’s HVDC approach promises improved efficiency and scalability for the next generation of AI factories.
